Efficiency (η)
Ratio of output power to input power in a transmission. In technopolymers it is influenced by friction, lubrication conditions and operating temperature.

Elastic modulus (Young’s modulus, E)
Parameter measuring the stiffness of a material, i.e. its resistance to elastic deformation. Obtained from the ratio of applied stress to resulting unit strain. In technopolymers it varies with temperature and moisture content.
Environmental stress cracking (ESC)
Formation and propagation of cracks in a polymer subjected simultaneously to mechanical stress and the action of chemical agents (lubricants, solvents, vapours).
